Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity of an electrophotographic sensitive body by incorporating a specified metal-tetraesterified naphthalocyanine compound in said body. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body contains one of the metal-tetraesterified naphthalocyanine compounds represented by the formula in which M is one of metal atoms. of Ib, IIa, IIb, IIIa, IVa, IVb, Vb, VIIb, and VIII; (n) is 0 when M is a metal atom. of Ib, IIa, IIb, or VIII, (n) or 0 or 1 when M is IIIa, IVb, Vb, or VIIb, and (n) is 0, 1, or 2 when M is IVa; and L is halogen, OH, trialkylsiloxy, alkoxy, or acyloxy group when M belongs to IIIa or IVa, and L is oxygen atom. when M belongs to IV or Vb, and L is acyloxy group when M belongs to VIIb; each of R<1>-R<4> is alkyl or >=6C aryl group, thus permitting light absorption near 800nm wavelength to be enhanced, high sensitivity characteristics in the long wavelength region to be imparted, and performances as the laser printer to be enhanced.
