Abstract
PURPOSE: To considerablry reduce the information volume by encoding only average amplitude information of a channel signal calculated for each frame in a certain time section to send it to a synthesis part with respect to a channel component of about >=2kHz. CONSTITUTION: With respect to channels of high frequencies out of channels obtained by dividing the frequency of a voice signal into plural bands, only the frame average information is encoded. An average amplitude encoding part 14 consists of an absolute value circuit 41, an average amplitude calculator 42, an average amplitude encoder 43, etc., and a reproducing part 15 consists of an average amplitude decoder 45 and an amplitude interpolation circuit 47. An amplitude absolute value 41 is calculated from an input signal by the calculator 42 and is encoded to a logarithmic compression code by the encoder 43 and is sent to the reproducing part 15. Logarithmic expansion is performed in the decoder 45, and amplitude interpolation is performed for each sample by the circuit 47 to obtain amplitude information of each sample, and it is multiplied by the output signal of a white noise generator 48 by a means 49, and the result is outputted. Thus, the information volume is reduced.
