Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively detect a vibrating speed due to an earthquake and to switch a control circuit without a malfunction by providing a light emitting element and a light receiving element at the upper end of an upper part pendulum and upward thereof and interposing a control plate having a slit between both the elements. CONSTITUTION:The light emitting element 3 is mounted on the upper end of the upper part pendulum 1a of a pendulum 1 and the light receiving element 4 is mounted oppositely to the element 3 further upward thereof. The control plate 6 having the slit 5 for setting a predetermined amplitude is interposed between the elements 3 and 4 and a light from the element 3 reaches the element 4 by passing through the slit 5. This element 4 is connected to an amplifier 9 and the amplifier 9 is connected to a relay 10 disposed in a control circuit 11. At the time of generating the earthquake, the pendulum 1 vibrates in proportion to the velocity of the earthquake centering a pivot point, the light emitted from the element 3 is deviated from the slit 5 and screened by the plate 6, a signal is amplified by the amplifier 9 to operate the relay 10 and open or close the circuit 11. Thereby, the vibrating speed due to the earthquake is effectively detected and the circuit 11 can be opened and closed without the malfunction.
