Abstract
PURPOSE:To attain an error correction device with small circuit scale by providing a selection means, a delay means, a bit inversion means and a non-null detection means so as to reduce the capacity of a ROM used for a code converter. CONSTITUTION:A coincidence detection means 5, a selection means 6 selecting either an input signal or an error correction signal to supply the result to the 1st, 2nd... division means 1, 2..., a delay means 7 retarding the input signal by a prescribed lock pulse number, a bit inversion means 8 inverting the output signal of the delay means 7 by using an error correction signal and the non-null detection means 9 outputting an error detection signal when at least one of the 1st, 2nd residual codes is not zero, are provided, The coincidence detector 5 compares the residual code with the output of the code converter to generate an error correction signal thereby reducing the capacity of the ROM used for the code converter and reducing the circuit scale of the error corrector.
