Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the dehydrating performance of a press and prevent clogging of mesh in a press inscribed on the face for the dehydrating process of excretions, by arranging an inner cylinder with a screw rotary vane in the inside of an outer cylinder having a slit-shaped gap formed of strip material being triangular in section, and decreasing the gap between the inner and the outer cylinders as it gets nearer to a discharge port.
CONSTITUTION: Matters to be pressed, which have been charged from a hopper 2, are successively conveyed through a screw rotary vane 8 to a conveying space 7, and subjected to weak pressing pressure in a conveying chamber 7a around a small diameter shaft part 4b, and then gradually pressed under higher pressure in a conical part 4a. A cake remaining in the conveying chamber 7a is not yet solidified till the above-mentioned process, and squeezed liquid can be therefore discharged outside through the screen of an outer cylinder 3. The cake is then pressed under higher pressure in the narrow conveying chamber 7a around a large diameter cylindrical part 4c to solidify. In this case, the squeezed liquid is discharged through the screens of both the inner and the outer cylinder. The above-mentioned formation can thereby improve the dehydrating performance of a press and prevent clogging of screen mesh.
