Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which can easily give a leather-like foam excellent in appearance and softness and easy in color matching to different peripheral members, by mixing a vinyl chloride resin of a specified degree of polymerization with a plasticizer and a blowing (controlling) agent. CONSTITUTION:The title powdery composition is obtained by mixing 100pts.wt. vinyl chloride resin (A) of an average degree of polymerization of 300-800 with 30-120pts.wt. plasticizer (B) (e.g., diisodecyl phthalate), 0.5-10pts.wt. blowing agent (C) (e.g., azodicarbonamide) which is decomposed to blow at a temperature ranging from melting initiating temperature of the obtained composition to its decomposition temperature, and 0.1-5pts.wt. blowing controlling agent (D) (e.g., maleic acid). This composition is fed to the surface of a mold heated to a temperature ranging from the melting initiating temperature of the composition to the decomposition initiating temperature of component C, adhered to it and molten to form a sintered layer of the composition. The sintered side of this layer is heated to a temperature higher than the decomposition initiating temperature of a component C to foam said sintered layer, and the whole is cooled and released from the mold to obtain a skinned foam.
