Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an oilless bearing oil having excellent intrapore flowability over a wide range of temps., by adding a benzotriazole corrosion inhibitor to a particular mineral oil. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. mineral oil having a kinematic viscosity at 40 deg.C of 2-500cSt, a pour point of -25 deg.C or below, a flock point of -20 deg.C or below and a viscosity index of 70 of above is prepared by performing atmospheric distillation of a paraffin base crude oil or an intermediate base crude oil, purifying the resultant distillate, and subjecting the purified product to deep dewaxing treatment. The obtained oil is mixed with 0.001-1.0pt.wt. benzotriazole corrosion inhibitor (e.g., benzotriazole), up to 3wt.% additive such as an extreme pressure agent, an agent for wear and abrasion resistance, an oil agent and an antioxidant, and up to 20wt.% pour point depressant and/or a viscosity index improver.
