Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate anxiety or irritation caused through copy delay of first sheet by arranging a paper feed section exclusively used for first sheet copy such that the paper feed roller thereof is positioned closely to a pair of paper feed timing roller.
CONSTITUTION: In case of a standard size sheet, a paper feed roller 42 in a paper feed section 41 exclusively used for first sheet copy is driven to feed the sheet toward a pair of paper feed timing rollers 23. Consequently, the paper is fed quickly to the pair of paper feed timing rollers 23 and copy operation is carried out. In case of continuous copying, paper is fed sequentially starting from a paper feed cassette containing standard size papers in many paper feed cassettes 16W20 located at a multiple sheets containing paper feed section 39 or a multi-stage paper feed section 40 through carry paths 21, or 22 toward the pair of paper feed timing rollers 23.
