Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain output information of two modes and to compare and check them, and to facilitate the decision of a fault state by providing a continuous light emitting means and intermittent light emitting means by placing a slit between them, so that light reception can be executed by the first and the second light receiving means. CONSTITUTION:A slit plate 10 on which a slit 12 and a reflecting wall 13 having prescribed width are provided at a prescribed pitch is provided on the ground along the advance direction of a vehicle. A continuous light emitting means T1 consisting of a continuous light emitter 36 and an optical fiber 31, and an intermittent emitting means T2 consisting of an intermittent light emitter 37 and an optical fiber 32 are provided on a vehicle by placing the slit plate 10 between them, and light beams emitted from them are photodetected by the first photodetecting means R1 consisting of a light receive device 38 and an optical fiber 33, and the second light receiving means R2 consisting of a light receive device 39 and an optical fiber 34, respectively. Also, a reflected continuous light and a reflected intermittent light reflected by the reflecting wall 13 are received by the means R1, R2, respectively. In such a way, vehicle speeds of two modes can be obtained simultaneously, therefore, they can always be detected, while executing a check, and by deciding each mode, a stop or a fault of the vehicle can also be decided easily.
