Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify a production process and to improve yield by forming a groove for regulating the track width of an erasing magnetic core on the magnetic recording medium sliding face of the erasing magnetic core so as to extend it at least over almost all the area of the sliding face of the erasing magnetic core. CONSTITUTION:The groove 11 for regulating the track width of the erasing magnetic core 4 is formed on the magnetic recording medium sliding face of the core 4 so as to extend at least over almost all the area of the sliding face of the core 4. Thereby, the groove 11 for regulating the track width of the core 4 can be easily formed by a simple process, the groove 11 can be worked in a block state obtained by joining the pieces of base materials for respectively segmentating a recording/reproducing magnetic core 1 and the erasing core 4 in the production process of a magnetic head and tracks of both the cores 1, 4 can be easily and highly accurately positioned by the working accuracy of the groove 11. Consequently, the number of production processes can be reduced and the yield can be improved.
