Abstract
PURPOSE:To miniaturize a device and increase torque, by arranging a plurality of rotors confronted with a plurality of stators coming in pressure contact with each other, and by fixing the stators on a housing at a radial position within the pressure contact section. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic motor is composed of a housing 21, a shaft 22a and an output shaft 22b, bearings 23a-23b, a coupling member 50 having a plurality of projections 51, first-second rotors 40a-40b, first-second stators 30a-30b, and the like. Besides, at a radial position within a pressure contact section between a stator 30 and a rotor 40, the stator 30 is firmly fitted on the housing 21. Then, a space between an elastic unit 31 composing said stator 30 and the housing 21 with the stator 30 fitted firmly by the wavelength of a surface progressive-wave can be set to be the radial position within the pressure contact section, and so its fitting position can be freely selected, and a device can be miniaturized.
