Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a mildewproofing agent having safety, both antimicrobial and mildewproofing effects, comprising at least one of an extract of a pinaceous plant and an extract of an oleaceous plant as an active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: A mildewproofing agent comprising at least one of (A) an extract of a pinaceous plant or optionally a substance obtained by blending the extract with an organic acid or a salt thereof and adjusting the blend to pH 3W4 and (B) an extract of an oleaceous plant or optionally a substance obtained by adding one or more compounds (e.g. pyrocatechol or pyrogallol) shown by the formula (R1 is H or OH; R2 is H, COOH or OH) and adjusting the blend to pH 6W8 as an active ingredient. A mixture having the blending ratio of the substance A: the substance B of 1:0.1W10 is preferable. The mildewproofing agent is usable as an odorless mildewproofing agent.
