Abstract
PURPOSE: To replenish color materials required for a defective picture element by irradiating the defective picture element with laser light to remove all of the one- picture element portion of color materials and fixing the shape and the area of a defect correction part and using a mask having this picture element shape. CONSTITUTION: A defective picture element 58 of 8 color filter is irradiated with laser light 6 to remove the one-picture element portion of color materials, and the defective picture element 5a is covered with a mask 12 provided with a hole corresponding to one picture element, and color materials hardened by ultraviolet rays are applied from above the mask 12 by a dispenser 8. After color materials are stuck to the defective picture element 4a and excess color materials are removed by a scraper 10, the defective picture element 5a is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to harden and fix the color materials. That is, the defective picture element 5a is irradiated with laser light 6 to remove all of the one-picture element portion of color materials, and thereby, the shape and the area of the defect correction part are fixed. Thus, the defective picture element 5a of the color filter can be easily corrected, and therefore, the yield of products using the color filter is considerably improved, and the product cost is reduced.
