Abstract

PURPOSE:To inform the discrepancy of bar code data by providing a comparing means to compare the bar code data read and obtained by a bar code checker and the set bar code data. CONSTITUTION:A bar code printed on a label sent out from a label issuing slot is read by a bar code reader 13 and the read bar code data are outputted to an I/O port 6 through an interface 14. A CPU 1 fetches the bar code data read from the I/O port 6 and stores into the RAM 3. The stored bar code data and the bar code data set into the RAM 3 beforehand are compared. When the discrepancy is detected as the result of the comparison, it is judged as the occurrence of abnormality, a buzzer driving circuit 16 is controlled, a buzzer 15 is driven and it is noticed. Thus, it is surely noticed when incorrect bar code data different from the set data are printed on a label paper.
