Abstract
PURPOSE:To separate an optical isomer compound having two asymmetric carbons bonding through a specific group as well as functional group capable of coordinating a metal ion to bond other than the asymmetric carbons by a liquid chromatograph using a ligand exchange type filler. CONSTITUTION:An optical isomer of double chiral body expressed by the formula I (X and Z are functional group capable of coordinating to a metal ion, e.g. carboxyl, NH2, NO2, CN, OH, etc.; Y is -NH-, -SO-, -PO- or -CO-; R1 and R2 are alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl, etc.), etc., is separated by a liquid chromatograph using a ligand exchange type filler. The above-mentioned filler is obtained by carrying an optically active ligand (e.g. alanine) capable of forming a complex with a transition metal ion on a filler substrate and expressed by the formula II (either one of Y1-Y3 is silica gel, etc. and the remainder is H or alkyl, etc.; X is spacer; R is metal salt of ligand) when a silica gel is used as a support.
