Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture a ceramic superconducting wire material of good productivity by using a wire-shaped heat resisting material with perovskite type crystal structure formed at least on the upper surface thereof as a core material and laminating atoms constituting the ceramic superconductor thereon while the core material is being heated. CONSTITUTION:A core is made of a wire shaped heat resisting material with at least the upper surface thereof comprising perovskite type crystal structure. while this core material is being heated to 500 deg.C to 1,000 deg.C, atoms constituting a ceramic superconductor are laminated thereon to a desired thickness. A PVD or CVD method is used for applying the atoms. A wire-shaped body comprising a heat resisting material having the perovskite type crystal structure like SrTiO3, BaTiO2 or CaTiO3 is used as the core material. Even a wire-shaped material comprising non-perovskite type crystal structure such as W and SiC, however, can be used for the core as a complex material with a material of perovskite type crystal structure formed on the upper surface thereof.
