Abstract
PURPOSE:To make axial dimensions constant and not only improve the reliability of electrical connection with electrodes but also ensure superior sealing performance of electronic component, by forming a deformation part that performs expansion and contraction in the radial direction on the bottom part of caps which are fitted both ends of the mainframe of the electronic component. CONSTITUTION:The round-cornered part 9 of a cap 2b abuts on the end face of the mainframe 1 of a capacitor and once the part 9 is pressed into the end face under pressure, the round-conered part 9 acting as a guide is guided into the inner part of the cap 2b as the opening end circumference of a cylinder part 7 expands outside elastically in the radial direction. Once a force towards the outside in the radial direction is applied at the base circumference of the cylinder part 7 as its part 9 proceeds to the inner part of the cap, annular protrusions 10 that are formed at a bottom part 8 elastically deforms in the radial direction and becomes almost flat-like at the bottom part 8. The deformation of the annular protrusions 10 allows an expanse at the base circumference of the cylinder 7 to be almost equal to the expanse at the opening end circumference of the cylinder 7. As the fitting extent of the caps can be maintained constant for each product, axial dimensions of each product are kept constant.
