Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:An antibody capable of exhibiting specific reactivity to human hepatic cell growth factors. USE:Useful for screening and diagnosing hepatopathy, purifying human hepatic cell growth factors, etc. PREPARATION:A mammal, such as mouse, is initially immunized with a human hepatic cell growth factor as an antigen and splenic cells of the immunized animal are extracted and then fused to mammalian plasmocytoma cells, such as myelomatous cells, using a cell fusion promoter, such as polyethylene glycol, to afford a hybridoma. A strain capable of producing the aimed antibody is searched from the above-mentioned hybridoma and then monocloned. The aforementioned is finally propagated in abdominal cavity, etc., of a mouse to produce the aimed antibody.
