Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of an electric current to save consumption of electric power and to reduce the whole apparatus in size by providing an electric current control device adapted to control the supply of electric current to a linear motor portion by detecting the going motion and return motion of a movable element at the time of starting. CONSTITUTION:A free piston engine has a linear motor portion for starting and power generation. There are provided sensors 31, 32 for detecting the going motion and return motion of a movable element at the time of starting. An electric current control device comprising the sensors 31, 32, a flip-flop circuit and a delay circuit is adapted to supply electric current to a linear motor portion 15 and accumulate energy at every inversion in the movable element portion. Thus, the current supplied to the linear motor portion can be reduced to save the power consumption. Further, the whole apparatus of the free piston engine can be reduced in size.
