Abstract

PURPOSE:To simultaneously control plural channel cards in a multiple rack by providing a control unit in the multiple rack of a multiple MODEM and incorporating the MODEMs therein and applying command communication between plural channel cards and control units. CONSTITUTION:Public circuits 9, 10 are connected via an exchange network 8 by a call from a remote center and when a MODEM 4 in the control unit 3 and a MODEM 11 in a remote center are brought into the communication state, a command to a control control unit to control the channel card 2 from the DTE 12 of the remote center is inputted and received by a remote communication section 5. The content of the received command is discriminated by a control section 7, converted into a command form to a channel control section 13 and informed to the channel control section 13 of each channel card 2 from the channel communication section 6. The command from a channel communication section 6 is decoded by the channel control section 13 in each channel card 2 to control a modulator-demodulator section 14.
