Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively cope with turning, slip-off of wheels or the like by moving a stopper by movable means and applying auxiliary braking force to only one of right and left wheels according to the state of the stopper by power transmission means in a parking brake device. CONSTITUTION:Tractive force is transmitted to right and left rear cables 23L, 23R through an actuator (power transmission means) 11 by tractive operation of a side lever 1 for a front cable 5, and brake shoes 31L, 31R of right and left wheels are expanded to be pressed to a brake drum. The thus constructed parking brake device includes a switching operating portion (movable means) 13, wherein in case of changing the ratio of the braking forces of right and left wheels, a lever 15 is operated to the right or left position. Thus, a slide member 53 in the actuator 11 is moved through a cable 19, whereby one of stoppers 77L, 77R is brought into pressure contact with one of notches 79L, 79R of an equalizer 47 so as to brake only one wheel.
