Abstract

PURPOSE:To remarkably improve the strength of a joint portion and to simply conduct a joint work by forming an upper member and an under member by an inner panel and an outer panel, respectively and forming a node at a joint portion of both members. CONSTITUTION:A recess portion 11a is formed between an inner panel 12 and an outer panel 13 at the lower end portion of an upper member 11, and a projecting portion 14a engaged with the recess portion 11a from below is formed on the upper portion of an inner panel 15 of an under member 14. The projecting portion 14a of the under member 14 is engaged with the recess portion 11a of the upper member 11 to be joined and fixed to each other, whereby a node portion is formed at the joint portion. Accordingly, as the node portion is of an engagement structure, it is not necessary to especially position the upper member 11 and the under member 14 at the time of assembling, so that a joint work can be conducted simply and reliably. Furthermore, the strength of the joint portion for torsion and bending can be improved by the node portion.
