Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a porous composite sheet excellent in hardness, air permeability and durability, by heat-treating a porous composite sheet obtained by impregnating a nonwoven fabric of a polyester fiber with a polyurethane solution and coagulating the solution by a wet process. CONSTITUTION:A porous composite sheet is obtained by impregnating a nonwoven fabric of a polyester fiber (thickness of 2-10mm and a weight of 300-1500g/m<2>) with a polyurethane solution of a concentration of 5-30wt.% so that the amount of the adherent solid may be 40-260wt.%, coagulating the solution by a wet process and drying the fabric. After the surface layers are cut off from this sheet, it is heat-treated at a temperature >= the softening temperature of this polyurethane in a stream of hot air to obtain a porous composite sheet of a hardness >=80, which is at least 1.02 times that before the treatment and an air permeability >=25cc/cm<2>/sec, which is at least 1.5 times that before the treatment.
