Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent any nonconformity such as cutting or the like of a fiber at a spring end from occurring by fixing the end of a coil spring, consisting of a fiber-reinforced composite material, of a torsion spring device to be used for a part where torsional torque is added, to the opposite member tight enough. CONSTITUTION:A torsion coil spring 11 to be used for a torsion spring device 10 is one that is made up of spirally winding a spring material made of fiber- reinforced plastics. In this torsion spring device 10, a broad part 14 of the spring is clamped so as to be thrust in a broad storage part 21 of a bracket 18 by a clamping device 23, whereby the broad part 14 is firmly lockable to the bracket 18 as a wedge. And, such a member as giving it torque and the spring are connected to each other via this bracket 18. If the broad part 14 of the spring 12 is locked to the bracket 18 like this, a relative position between the broad part 14 and a mounting part of the bracket 18 will not be altered even if the spring 12 is slackened by torsional moment around the axis, so that a spring material surface being reinforced by a fiber can be prevented from breakdown.
