Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a seal member by providing a buffering device on a valve stem to which a child valve body is fixed while providing the seal member for closing a gap between the child valve body and a parent valve body. CONSTITUTION:When a normal current flows in a valve box 20 from an upper course side to a lower course side, a parent valve body 30 is rotated by its water pressure with a valve stem 32 as the fulcrum opening a passage. At this time, the parent valve body 30, together with the water pressure, pushes a child valve body 34 and rotated together with the child valve body 34, to make the opening action of the child valve body 34 which is accompanied by the operation of a buffering device 36 smooth. When the parent valve body 30 finishes closing the passage, a reverse current passes through a flow passage hole 29 to the upper a course side with a strong force. In this case, however, a seal member 298a installed on the face on the lower course side of the parent valve body 30 is merely pressed against the parent valve body 30 by the reverse current, without being separated from the parent valve body 30.
