Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the resistance of a flow passage while increasing reaction property due to catalyst and improve radiation efficiency, by a method wherein a catalyst tube, having the longitudinal section of subsantially reversed recess type, is arranged by connecting to or isolating from the upper part of a combustion tube while a multitude of communicating holes are bored at least at the side surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst tube 5 is provided with a structure having a substantially reversed recess type longitudinal section with a maltitude of communicating holes 6 or the shape of the structure is like an inverted pot while the catalyst tube 5 is put on the upper end of a combustion tube 1 closely. Unburnt constituent is oxided perfectly on the surface of the catalyst tube 5 while cleaned exhaust gas is discharged through the communicating holes 6 into the surroundings and the upward direction thereof. The catalyst tube 5 is provided with substantially the same diameter as the diameter of the combustion tube 1 but with communicating holes 6 on the circumferential side wall thereof and the opening rate and contacting surface area thereof are large; therefore, a resistance against the flow of exhaust gas is reduced and bad affection to the draft of the combustion tube 1 may be avoided. The catalyst tube 5 receives the retaining heat of the exhaust gas, passing through the communicating holes 6, and the reaction heat of the unburnt constituent is added to the same; therefore, large radiation heat may be dissipated to the surroundings from the catalyst tube 5 whose temperature is risen sufficiently.
