Abstract

PURPOSE:To stop a rotary table at a position whereat a substance to be heated can be taken out easily when a door is opened, by a method wherein a heating appliance is provided with a control unit, controlling power supply for the heating appliance, a position detecting sensor, detecting the position of the substance to be heated, and a detecting means for the opening and closing of the door. CONSTITUTION:A heating command, inputted from a key board 4, is read by a control unit 5 and the control unit 5 detects the position of a substance 8 to be heated, which is put on a rotary table 7 in a heating chamber 6, through a position detecting sensor 9. The position detecting sensor 9 is an ultrasonic sensor and is provided at the ceiling of the heating chamber 6 so as to be eccentric from the rotary shaft of the turning table 7. A means 11 detecting the opening and closing of a door 2 transmits the opening operation of the door 2 to the control unit 5. When the opening operation of the door is detected or a timer means in the control unit 5 stops or finishes the power supply for the heating means 12, the control unit 5 detects the position of the substance 8 to be heated on the rotary table 7 by employing the position detecting sensor 9 and controls a driving means 10 so as to bring the substance 8 to a front position, for example, with respect to the door 2; thereafter, the driving means 10 stops the rotary table 7.
