Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the operating efficiency of a switching element in a normal speed and miniaturize the title device, by reducing the power loss of the switching element upon operating in a low speed. CONSTITUTION:When the absolute speed of a motor 7 becomes lower than a given speed, a low-speed operating signal VLS is outputted by a comparator 10. The limiting function of a speed control circuit 1 is operated by the signal VLS and limits the value of a current command I to a predetermined value. A triangular wave generating circuit 11 operates a switch 11A by the signal VLS to reduce a chopping frequency. According to this operation, a stationary power loss due to conducted current and the power loss due to switching may be reduced upon operating in a low speed.
