Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a FRP construction object of hollow cross section having high packing rate of fiber and moreover no molded defect by a method in which the inner layer object of hollow cross section composed of thermoplastic resin is arranged in a cavity, and the periphery of the inner layer object is filled with reinforcing fiber, and then resin is poured in the state where the pressure in the cavity is reduced. CONSTITUTION:In the state where a top force 5 and a bottom force 6 are opened, the bottom force 6 is filled to a prescribed thickness with reinforcing fiber 13, and the inner layer object 2 with rectangular and hollow cross section is set therein. The inner layer object 2 is composed of the thermoplastic resin formed into the hollow shape of rectangular cross section. After the inner layer object 2 has been set, the bottom force is further filled with reinforcing fiber 13, and the molds are closed by lowering the top force 5. When the pressure in a cavity 17 is reduced by driving a vacuum pump 12, the reinforcing fiber 13 is pressed by the inner layer object 2, and is adapted to the inner surface of the cavity 17 so that the thickness of the fiber 13 becomes a desired thickness. When resin is poured into the cavity 17 through a sprue 10 from the nozzle 14 of a pouring machine, the resin permeates the inner part of the reinforcing fiber 13 and reaches every nook and corner in the cavity 17. The resin is cured, and a molded object is taken out. Consequently, the packing rate of the reinforcing fiber is heightened, and the FRP product with high physical characteristics may be obtained.
