Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a time required for washing an impression cylinder, to eliminate danger in operation, and to improve an operation environment, by washing the impression cylinder mechanically in a systematic manner. CONSTITUTION:A cloth 8 for wiping the stain on an impression cylinder 3 is wound around a feed roll 9 with one end thereof securely held to a take-up roll 10 and pressed by a sponge rubber 13 to be abutted on the surface of the impression cylinder 3. This abutting/separating motion is conducted through a bracket 14 by an air pressure rocking motor 14 provided on its shaft end. When the impression cylinder 3 is rotating in non-printing states, the cloth 8 is abutted on the surface of the impression cylinder to wipe the stain thereon and a washing liquid is discharged from a washing liquid discharging tube 15. This cloth wet with the liquid is taken up by the take-up roll 10 by an inching action. When a claw 5 of the impression cylinder 3 comes near to the cloth 8, a cam follower 17 abuts against a cam 16 disposed on the side surface of the impression cylinder. In this manner, the cam follower 17 is pressed to rotate the bracket 14, whereby the cloth 8 is separated from the surface of the impression cylinder. After the claw passes through, the cam follower 17 is detached from the cam 16, and the cloth 8 again abuts on the surface of the impression cylinder to continue the stain-wiping operation.
