Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous count in a copying machine by providing such an arrangement that the count of a jam counter is prevented until a possible copying condition is again detected and a first copying sheet is discharged under copying operation after occurrence of a paper jam. CONSTITUTION:When a CPU 200 in a control counter detects a jam 1 on a path from a paper feed section to a timing roller section or a jam 2 on a path from a conveying section to a discharge section in accordance with signals from sensors located at several positions, the condition of the jam is displayed. When a possible copying condition is detected by a trouble reset and copying operation is carried out by a driver IC201, if a first copying sheet is discharged, jam counters in RAM202 for the jams 1, 2 are counted up. Further, when a service man depresses a check key for the number of occurrence of the jams 1 or 2, the number of occurrence of the jams is displayed on a displaying section 101. Thus, it is possible to eliminate erroneous count, thereby it is possible to prevent erroneous repair.
