Abstract
PURPOSE:To calculate and display a reduced scale horizontal distance automatically in a short period of time by making computation in accordance with the data on the distance measurement measured by a light wave rangefinder, the date on the angle measurement from a rotary encoder and the data on the reduced scale ratio selected from a memory means. CONSTITUTION:A light wave alidade 1 has the light wave rangefinder 4 and the rotary encoder 5 which can measure the rotating amt. of the light wave rangefinder 4, i.e., vertical angle. A CPU 6 which is an arithmetic control means is disposed in an alidade base 2. The CPU 6 is equipped internally with a RAM and ROM in which the procedures for controlling the measurement with the light wave rangefinder 4 and the rotary encoder 5, the reduced scales, etc., are stored. The distance up to a target is measured by collimation with the light wave rangefinder 4 as the target and the angle between the optical axis of the light wave rangefinder 4 and the horizontal plane is measured by the rotary encoder 5. The CPU 6 calculates the reduced scale distance automatically in accordance with the data on the reduced scale selected from the memory means as well as the data on the measured distance and the data on the measured angle and displays the calculated distance on a liquid crystal display 7.
