Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify torque transmission path and to improve cooling efficiency by providing a rotor shaft while penetrating through a fixing member in a magnetic particle type electromagnetic brake. CONSTITUTION:A yoke 1 incorporating an exciting coil 2 is coupled through a fixing member, i.e. a bracket 5, with an inner circumferential side stator 11, then a rotor shaft 7 coupled integrally with a rotor 6 having a tubular section is penetrated through the bracket 5 and born through a bearing 8. Magnetic particles are filled between the outer circumferential face of the inside stator 11 and the inner circumferential face of the tubular section of the rotor 6, then a heat pipe 13 for cooling the magnetic particles 12, cooling fins 17 and a fan 18 are provided to constitute a magnetic particle type electromagnetic brake. Since the yoke 1 and the inner circumferential side stator 11 are coupled only through the bracket 5, the structure is simplified and torque transmission path can be shortened, while since wind fed from the fan is blown directly to the cooling fins 17, cooling efficiency is improved.
