Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable earthquake resistance test in the state of reproducing the stress by its own weight of a specimen to a ground or other reduced scale model by executing excitation by a hydraulic actuator in the state of applying a centrifugal acceleration to the specimen. CONSTITUTION:The interior pipings of a hydraulic source 11 and a rotating arm 4 are connected and a working fluid is accumulated in an accumulator 8 while the rotating arm is held stopped. The working fluid passes through a servo valve 10 and operates the hydraulic actuator 6 to excite a sample container 5 when a control signal is sent to the valve 10. The fluid on the opposite side port of the cylinder passes through the valve 10 simultaneously and enters the return side accumulator 13. The fluid enters the cylinder alternately and the container 5 is excited when the switching of the valve 10 is repeated. On the other hand, the pressure of the accumulator 13 increases and the fluid is recovered in the device 11 in the stopped state. The excitation is thereby executed while the centrifugal force is held exerted to the specimen. The earthquake resistance test is thus enabled.
