Abstract

PURPOSE:To execute flat sticking by applying a photo-setting adhesive agent, and thereafter, sticking in parallel each rod-like transparent substrate to a large area transparent substrate through a spacer, and joining mutually each rod-like transparent substrate by radiating a light beam. CONSTITUTION:To the side and end faces in the width direction of a rod-like glass substrate on which a picture element electrode 5, a switching element 6 and a scanning electrode 7 have been formed, a photo-setting adhesive agent is applied in advance as a filling adhesive agent 9, and these rod-like glass substrates 4 are stuck in parallel through a spacer 8 to a large area glass substrate 1 of a display area size on which a color filter 2, a signal electrode 3, etc., have been formed. Subsequently, from the rod-like glass substrate 4 group side, a transparent elastic film 11 and a glass plate 12 for using press- contacting/sealing are stuck, and also, polarizing plates 13, 14 are stuck on both sides. Thereafter, a cell gap part is allowed to form a vacuum, and the cell gap dimensional accuracy is given, and thereafter, the photo-setting adhesive agent is hardened by radiating a light beam for hardening to a photo-setting adhesive agent part, and each rod-like glass substrate is joined mutually.
