Abstract

PURPOSE:To print a color photograph with proper gradation and chroma saturation by displaying a color original picture on a monitor before printing, executing the correction of chroma saturation and gradation and controlling the luminance of the spot light of a CRT according to corrected three-color video signals so that printing is executed. CONSTITUTION:The three-color video signals written in a frame memory part 36 are transmitted to a logarithm conversion look-up table memory (LUT) 41 and respectively converted into logarithm so as to be transmitted to a chroma saturation correction part 42 as three-color density signals. The chroma saturation correction part 42 executes a matrix operation and carries out the standard correction of chroma saturation to the said signals. The video signals to which the correction of chroma saturation is executed are simultaneously transmitted to a monitor system and a CRT light emission control system respectively. The video signals inputted a 1st gamma correction LUT 46 are corrected in terms of gradation, then executed the correction of gradation in a LUT 40 for display. Then the printed image of a photograph is displayed on a color monitor 49 as a color positive image. And the color original picture is printed on a color photosensitive material by controlling the light emission of the CRT 1.
