Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the deterioration of a material non-destructively with good accuracy by detecting the change in a higher harmonic component and previously providing the relative data on the deterioration of the material. CONSTITUTION:An inspection range is inputted from a computer 6, an inspection coil 2A of a scanning driving device 3 is disposed on the front face of an object 1 to be measured and disposes an inspection coil 2B on a reference test piece 11. The data is stored in a floppy disk 7 during the measurement. The data are processed by a computer 6 in accordance with a statistical data processing method. Namely, the measurement data are statistically rearranged by each of parameters. The data base by the multiple regression analysis previously obtd. from a known deteriorated material is inputted to the computer. A deterioration life L1 is estimated by the evaluation equation of the highest correlation coefft. and a deterioration life is estimated by the evaluation equation of the 2nd highest coefft. The deterioration life L1 is decided if the difference between both lives is below the set value. The reliability and confidential interval are then outputted to an external recorder 8. The infeasibility of the deterioration life is decided if the difference is above the set value. The deterioration is thus non-destructively, rapidly and exactly detected and the damage by brittleness is prevented.
