Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent an excess peak signal from being applied to a speaker by restoring the sound level to the original sound volume setting level gradually at the re-operation of a mute operation switch. CONSTITUTION:An input signal is fed to a speaker 3 via an electronic volume circuit 1 and an amplifier circuit 2. In operating a mute operation switch S3, the sound volume setting level at that point is stored in a memory in a control circuit 4 and the sound volume setting level of the electronic volume circuit 1 is set to a zero level by the control output of the control circuit 4. In operating the mute operation switch S3 again, the sound volume level of -50dB is, for example, at first, set by the control output of the control circuit 4, and the sound volume setting level is controlled to be increased gradually till the original sound volume setting level at a prescribed step. Thus, the leading of the excess output is not applied to the speaker at the restoration from the mute state thereby preventing the speaker from the destroyed.
