Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease the liquid crystal sticking to liquid crystal cells at the time of injection by using a liftable arm formed partly with a groove for contg. the liquid crystal to bring injection holes into contact with the build-up part of the liquid crystal in the groove and increasing the air pressure successively. CONSTITUTION:Plural sheets of the liquid crystal cells 13 are housed vertically in a stocker 17 in such a manner that the liquid crystal injection holes 18 face downward. The cells are hung in a vacuum vessel 12 and the liftable arm 14 is immersed in a liquid crystal tank 15 and is vacuum evacuated in this state to expel the air in the liquid crystal cells 13. The liquid crystal 16 is held built up by surface tension in the groove 19 on the arm 14. The high vacuum is maintained in the cells and, therefore, the liquid crystal is successively force-fed into the liquid crystal cells in the groove 19 through the holes 18 of the degree of vacuum in the vessel 12 is lowered down to the atmospheric pressure after the liquid crystal comes into perfect contact with the part near the injection holes. The amt. of the liquid crystal to be used is thereby decreased and since the liquid crystal is injected into the cells by the mere contact with the part near the injection holes, the intrusion of impurities, etc., is decreased.
