Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the good sharpness of a silver halide photographic sensitive material, and to lessen a residual color amount of said material, sufficiently by maintaining high sensitivity, by incorporating a specified luminescent dye in a photosensitive layer or its adjacent layer. CONSTITUTION:The luminescent dye which absorbs the part of a light at the luminescent wavelength region of a fluorescent substance, and emits light at the photosensitive wavelength region of the photosensitive layer, is incorporated in the photosensitive layer or its adjacent of a silver halide photographic sensitive material. Since the photographic sensitive material usable for a X ray contains the luminescent dye, a crossover light due to filter effect disappears, and the sensitivity effect of said material is displayed in a form of transmitting energy to a sensitizing dye and/or a silver halide due to the luminescent dye. Thus, the silver halide photosensitive material having the high sharpness and sensitivity and the less residual color is obtd.
