Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a rigid polyurethane foam having a low thermal conductivity and density in a short demolding time, by using a specific polyol mixture in reacting a polyol component with an isocyanate component in the presence of a foaming agent, reaction catalyst and foam stabilizer. CONSTITUTION:A polyol mixture, consisting of (A) 48-52wt.% polyol obtained by adding propylene oxide and ethylene oxide to tolylenediamine, (B) 10-40wt.% polyol prepared by adding ethylene oxide to bisphenol, (C) 13-17wt.% polyol obtained by adding propylene oxide to trimethylolpropane, (D) 9-13wt.% polyol prepared by adding propylene oxide to sucrose and (E) 10-14wt.% polyol obtained by adding propylene oxide and ethylene oxide to diethanolamine and having 440-470 average OH value is reacted with an isocyanate in the presence of a foaming agent, reaction catalyst and foam stabilizer to afford the aimed rigid polyurethane foam suitable as a heat insulating material for refrigerators, etc.
