Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled molded product outstanding in pest-repellent effect, by dissolving a mothproofing agent in a volatile solvent and making a spray coating of the resultant solution on expanded beads surface followed by lubricant treatment of the resulting beads and then carrying out expansion molding to effect proper distribution of said agent on the beads surface. CONSTITUTION:First, a solution or dispersion prepared by dissolving or dispersing a mothproofing agent in a volatile solvent is sprayed on expanded beads surface followed by removing the solvent to effect uniform distribution of said agent on the beads surface. Thence, the resulting beads are mixed with a lubricant such as wax to coat said beads with the lubricant. Finally, the resultant beads are heated, in general, at 80-120 deg.C for 1-5min to carry out expansion molding thus obtaining the objective molded product. Said expanded beads are pref. based on polystyrene.
