Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain stable photosensitive characteristics and electric chargeability characteristics by incorporating a specified polyarylate in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer of an organic photosensitive body contains the polyarylate having a structure represented by the formula in which R<1> is H, halogen atom except F, or the like; R<2> is lower alkylene or cycloalkylidene group; (l) is an integer of 1-4 and (m) is an integer of 0-3 and l+n=4, thus permitting the obtained binder resin itself to be superior in abrasion resistance, humidity resistance, or the like, and not to require addition of various additives, and accordingly, to be stabilized in photosensitivity and chargeability characteristics even in the case of various environmental conditions, and high-quality images to be obtained for a long period.
