Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a photochromic composition suitable for detecting ultraviolet rays and regulating light volume, having specific viscosity, changing into three colors by irradiating light, by dissolving a spiropyran compound, a specific amount of a proton donative compound and a high polymer in an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:A spiropyran compound (preferably benzospiropyran compound) changing in color by light irradiation, >=0.5 normal, preferably 0.5-20 normal based on the spiropyran compound of a proton donative compound (preferably hydrochloric acid) and a high polymer (preferably polystyrene) are dissolved in an organic solvent (preferably tetrahydrofuran) to give a photochromic composition having 5-1,000cps viscosity.
