Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the thermal stability and to increase the product of the saturated magnetic flux density and permeability by forming the alloy contg. specific ratios of the elements selected from IIIa group, IVa group, etc., in the periodic table, Y and Co as the target and forming a film on a matrix. CONSTITUTION:The elements (M) selected from IIIa group, IVa group, Va group, VIa group, VIIa group, VIIIa group, IIIb group and IVb groups in the periodic table as well as Co and Y are weighted to the prescribed amounts and are alloyed by an arc melting method, by which the amorphous alloy having the compsn., by atomic number ratio, of [Co]:[Y]:[M]=1-x-y:x:y (where 0-0.15x and 0-0.15y are regulated) is obtd. The surface of said alloy is worked and finished into the target. Said target is then film-formed on the matrix by a sputtering method.
