Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture a metallic porcelain enamel product excellent in brightness, by glazing a porcelain enamel product after the baking of ground coat, applying a glaze containing specific amounts of pigment prepared by coating mica flakes with metal oxide to the above to a specific thickness, and then carrying out baking. CONSTITUTION:A glaze is applied to a porcelain enamel product after the baking of ground coat treated according to the ordinary method, and successively, without baking the above, a metallic glaze for finishing is further applied to the above to a film thickness within a range of 5-50mum. the above metallic glaze for finishing is prepared by mixing 10-60pts.wt. of pigment formed by coating mica flakes with metal oxide, such as titanium oxide, with a high- consistency aqueous solution formed by adding 1-30pts.wt. of emulsifier, such as tragacanth gum, to 100pts.wt. of water and then mixing and dissolving the resulting mixture. By baking the above-mentioned glazed porcelain enamel product, the porcelain enamel product excellent in metallic brightness, free from porcelain enamel defects, such as bubbles, rough surface, and cracks, and having an attractive appearance can be inexpensively obtained.
