Abstract

PURPOSE:To deposit an electrodeposited layer having nearly uniform thickness on the whole body of a structure in the sea by applying electric resistant substance on the surface of a member good in electrodeposition properties and electrifying both the structure and an insulated electrical conductor in the structure in the sea which consists of a member superior in electrodeposition properties and a member inferior therein. CONSTITUTION:A structural member 1 in the sea is constituted of combination of both a shape steel 2 superior in electrodeposition properties and a wire gauze 3 free from electrodeposition properties and concrete 4 is applied at about 1-2mm thickness on the surface of the shape steel 2. This structural member 1 is made to a cathode and this cathode and an anode 8 insulated therefrom are supplied with DC current via cables 11, 12 from a DC electric source 7. Therefor Ca and Mg in the seawater are deposited as inorganic substance on the structural member 1 being a cathodic face by electrolysis. The shape iron 2 is applied with concrete 4 and therefore the flow of current is wholly averaged and electrodeposited substance 5 is deposited at nearly same amount on the shape steel 2 and the wire gauze 3.
