Several hundred years have passed since it first blossomed in the field of craft decoration for swords and other items.

能とされていた。 However, until now, the raden technique has only been used as a means of decorating metal and wood materials that have rigid surface characteristics, and has been applied to flexible materials such as kimono fabrics such as furisode and tomesode, obi fabrics, and Japanese accessories. It was considered completely impossible to use it as a decorative means for surfaces.

The thin layer of shellfish shatters and falls off the cloth surface, causing the translucent luster and iridescent color effect unique to mother-of-pearl to be lost.

A step of forming a transparent water-soluble resin coating on the back side of the thin layer, a step of drawing a pattern on the surface of the thin layer on the shell, and a step of forming a water-soluble resin coating colored with a pigment on the back side of the water-soluble resin coating. a step of overlapping the coatings; a step of pounding a thin layer of shellfish from the side of the colored water-soluble resin coating to fix the thin layer of crushed shellfish into fine particles on the water-soluble resin coating; forming a transparent film of water-soluble resin on the thin layer of fine particles of shellfish, and applying the laminated structure of the thin layer of shellfish particles and the water-soluble resin film along the periphery of the pattern. The gist of this invention is a method for producing mother-of-pearl material, which comprises the steps of cutting and cutting to form mother-of-pearl pieces.

A relatively flat mother-of-pearl material Ao having dimensions of 100 mm x 30 mm is prepared. This mother-of-pearl material Ao is ground from the outer layer side toward the inner surface, and a thin layer A of shellfish having an average thickness of about 0.07 mm is cut out. Next, a thin layer of shellfish A
A transparent water-soluble resin solution B containing vinyl acetate as a main component and an appropriate amount of acrylic resin is applied to the back side of the machine, that is, the side to be ground, and air-dried to form a water-soluble resin coating B. Form. After drawing a desired pattern, for example, cherry blossom petals, on the surface of the thin layer A of the shellfish that is lined with the water-soluble resin coating B, a desired color, for example, pale pink, is drawn on the back side of the water-soluble resin coating B. A second water-soluble resin coating C is formed in a laminated state with the first resin coating B by applying the same colored water-soluble resin liquid C and air drying. The thus obtained laminate consisting of the shellfish thin layer A, the first water-soluble resin coating B, and the second water-soluble resin coating C is then formed into a second water-soluble resin coating C.
The thin layer A of the shellfish adhered to the first water-soluble resin coating B is crushed into fine particles by hitting it from the side with a rubber hammer. Next, a transparent water-soluble resin solution similar to the above is applied to the surface of the thin layer A of the crushed shellfish and air-dried to form a thin layer A of the shellfish with a pattern (in this example, cherry blossom petals) drawn on it. A coating B of water-soluble resin is formed on the surface of the sample. Finally, a pink mother-of-pearl piece P in the shape of a cherry blossom petal is constructed by cutting the mother-of-pearl material having a B-A-B-C laminated structure along the periphery of the pattern.

It can be firmly adhered to the surface of a flexible material such as a fabric product, leather product, or paper product, and can easily follow the bending deformation of the flexible material. Therefore, the mother-of-pearl pattern does not crack or fall off, and the luster and iridescent color tone unique to mother-of-pearl can be maintained semi-permanently in a wide range of applications. Therefore, the present invention can be recognized to have extremely high practical value in terms of craft technology, as it can be used in a wide range of fields including Japanese clothing and Western clothing. Additionally, the thin layer of shellfish used in the present invention is
Because it is ground to a thickness of less than 100 microns,
The color of the shell itself has almost no effect on the tone of the mother-of-pearl design. Therefore, the color characteristics of the mother-of-pearl pattern can be freely changed simply by selecting the color of the pigment mixed in the water-soluble resin used as the backing layer. This characteristic also greatly contributes to expanding the selection range of shells that can be used as mother-of-pearl materials.
