Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the conveyability, fixability, wear resistance, and above all, durability of a sheet-like material to be conveyed such as paper by incorporating a filler having 0.5-15mum grain size into elastic layers to form the elastic layers in which the filler is independently distributed and the filler deposited on the surface is slipped off during the surface polishing of the elastic layers. CONSTITUTION:A fixing roller 1 and a press roller 10 have the elastic layers 4, 14, adhesive layers 5, 15 and resin layers 4, 15. Silicone rubber is used for the elastic layers 4, 14 and quartz as the filler having 0.5-15mum grain size is incorporated into the silicone rubber. The elastic layers are so formed that the filler deposited on the surface is slipped off when the surface is polished in the production process. The fixing roller which sufficiently satisfies the fixability, durability and release characteristic is produced by using such silicone rubber as the elastic layer.
