Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the burying accuracy of a small-diameter underground pipe by protrudingly providing a water pipe and a slurry pipe for slurrifying the earth and sand taken in a pilot head from both sides of the outer peripheral sections of the pilot head and a pilot pipe along the axial line. CONSTITUTION: As a pilot pipe 5 fitted with a pilot heat 7 at its front end is driven, the natural ground in front of a cutter 8 preceding the head 7 is excavated with the cutter 8 and the excavated earth and sand are taken in the head 7. A water pipe 9 and a slurry pipe 10 are integrally provided on both sides of the outer peripheral sections of the pilot pipe 5 and head 7 along the axial direction. In addition, these are divided into parts at every pilot pipe 5 and the divided parts are water-tightly connected to each other so as to supply fresh water from a starting shaft 2 side with a water pump. Moreover, four main nozzles 12a are connected to the head 7 side inside of the water pipe 9 so as to slurrify the earth and sand taken in the head 7 by agitating the earth and sand with the water jetted from the nozzles 12a. Therefore, the slurry can be discharged efficiently from the slurry pipe 10.
